Location: Remote (minimum 4 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time)
Employment type: Contract (2 to 6 months, with the option to extend)
About Edgar Allan
Edgar Allan is an award-winning Webflow Enterprise Partner agency working at the intersection of brand and performance. We help mid-market and enterprise businesses move from brand clarity to conversion. In the AI era, a strong brand is how you're found, understood and chosen.
We're about 65+ people around the world, with leadership in Atlanta, Georgia. We build the frameworks and do the work in real time with our clients as AI changes how they compete.
The Role:
We’re looking for someone who can walk into a large enterprise website with sprawling tag management and leave it with a measurement foundation people trust. You'll audit what's there, design the data layer, specify the tag management and analytics setup, and define the metrics that tie site behavior to business outcomes. On enterprise engagements, the client's own engineering teams usually do the deployment. You'll write the specifications, implementation guidance and example code they build from, so clear documentation matters as much as technical skill. You'll also work with client data teams on how site data flows into their warehouse and reporting.
You'll work inside our Visibility Engineering (VEO) team alongside SEO, AEO and CRO specialists. Your work feeds their reporting, their tests and their recommendations.
What you'll do
- Audit enterprise tag management and analytics setups: tags, load rules, extensions, connectors and what each one actually collects.
- Design data layer specifications and event taxonomies that hold up across large, multi-team sites.
- Write implementation guidance for GA4, Search Console and tag management, including server-side tagging and consent mode.
- Define business metrics and how each is measured, such as self-service success and contact deflection, as well as measurement-health metrics.
- Work with client data teams on a semantic layer and metrics model that connects site events to their data platform.
- Set up tracking for A/B tests and conversion goals with our CRO team.
- Present findings and plans to client stakeholders, including technical and legal reviewers.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years in web analytics, tag management or marketing data engineering, with enterprise experience.
- Hands-on depth in an enterprise tag manager, ideally Tealium (iQ, EventStream, AudienceStream). GTM or Adobe Launch also counts.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Analytics (report suites, solution design references) and GA4.
- Experience designing a data layer from scratch, not only adding tags to an existing one.
- Server-side tagging, consent management, and how browser privacy limits such as Safari's cookie caps affect data collection.
- Clear written specifications. Engineers at another company should be able to build from them without you in the room.
- Comfort in client meetings, including explaining tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
Fast-track skills
If you also bring any of these, tell us. They move you to the front of the line.
- Semantic layer, metrics ontology or data modeling work with a client data team
- Warehouse or CDP experience (Databricks, BigQuery, Snowflake) and unified customer profiles
- Experience with sites on Adobe Experience Manager
- Dashboards in Looker Studio, Power BI or similar, built for executives
- Experimentation platforms and CRO test instrumentation
- Measuring traffic from AI search and answer engines, or familiarity with AEO tools like Profound
- Using Claude or other AI tools to speed up audits, documentation or QA
- Strategic range: you read the data and recommend what the business should do next
What It's Like Here
- Remote-first and people-first.
- We value curiosity, kindness, and clarity.
- You'll work with some of the best SEO, AEO and CRO specialists, strategists and developers in the game.
Why Edgar Allan
You'll join a VEO team that already measures how brands show up in search and AI answers, with direct access to clients and leadership, and a delivery model built for speed and iteration.
If you want your measurement to drive real decisions, and you like working alongside engineers and data teams, we'd like to talk.
How to apply
- Submit your resume, LinkedIn profile, and a short overview of a measurement setup you designed or rebuilt: what you found, what you changed and what it made possible.
- Interviews with core team members
- Timeline: We aim to wrap up the process within 2-3 weeks.
Please note, Edgar Allan conducts background checks at the offer stage for all hires (which may include criminal background checks for some roles).
