Giving Welldoc a category to own in the noisiest conversation in health tech
Welldoc has spent over a decade building the AI infrastructure behind some of the biggest names in healthcare and life sciences. What started in diabetes management has grown into a multi-condition platform used across various healthcare systems.
In the past few years, Welldoc had made major technological leaps and bounds, gained 11 FDA clearances, 60+ patents, and appeared in more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, and it needed a brand and website to keep pace with the momentum the company had built. The realization: every health tech brand talks about AI, but most use it as a shiny object, with little more than chatbots as proof of integration. Welldoc’s leadership kept asking the same question: how do we cut through that noise?

Introducing Healthcare-ready AI
Welldoc had built something more advanced than its own story indicated. Edgar Allan reconstructed the brand’s foundation with new positioning, language that more accurately connected what Welldoc does to who it’s for, and a voice bold enough to match the product behind it. A full site overhaul followed, which included a content strategy built around telling the Welldoc AI story to its various audiences in the ways they needed to hear it.
The client chose to reshape their brand around the category we created just for them: Healthcare-Ready AI. Designed to highlight just how different Welldoc is from other AI-assisted healthcare platforms on the market, this positioning anchors Welldoc as a brand that knows exactly what they’re saying in this crowded conversation. And it gives them language to convey the regulatory rigor and clinical governance that make AI trustworthy in healthcare, pushing them to own something no other brand in the industry can.
The visual identity solidifies that claim. Healthcare branding tends to live in white, blue, and green. Our design team pushed Welldoc toward saturated brights and rich jewel tones, including a pink more associated with AI-native tech brands than hospital systems, so the brand would read immediately as part of the category it’s claiming, not just another healthcare or healthtech brand. Welldoc’s own product team was mid-overhaul on its UI at the same time, so brand and product design moved together as one well-oiled machine.

Six months in, the category reframe is making a difference
Since launch, Welldoc’s conversion rate is up 13.7% year over year: with more health plans, employers, and life sciences partners completing the actions that move them toward a partnership. Average session duration is up 13.5% over the same period. People are spending real time with the story, not skimming past it.
Further, where Welldoc’s website used to be a marketing asset, it’s now the brand’s single source of truth, used ahead of sales calls, in new-hire onboarding, and in job interviews.
“A lot of the vendors we were looking at were looking at this as a tech platform build. Edgar Allan was rare in treating it as a strategic asset.”Marina Dorotheo
Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at Welldoc
As of June 2026, Edgar Allan and Welldoc continue to work together, this time on Visibility and Optimization, a combined AEO, SEO, and CRO practice, to build signals around Healthcare-Ready AI and bring it to new life science partners and customers.
