Ghost

Slick animation and motion built for the AI driving revolution

Edgar Allan Webflow | Ghost | Case Study

Ghost’s digital dreams included some complex interactions as well as animation and video, including building a scrolling flipbook in the Webflow CMS that would display a dynamic vehicle in motion and an exciting, uniquely visual blog experience.

We parsed over 60MB of content and visual assets to combine a custom imagery gallery and JavaScript-driven animation to create a rich user experience down the page, extending Webflow’s capabilities while leveraging the platform’s ability to give brands control of their marketing layer.

Custom-made with CMS updatability

For this project, custom solutions built on top of Webflow were the name of the game. We augmented the Ghost build to provide a dynamic homepage and blog experience — and along the way, learned a lot about how to integrate animations into Webflow. We made custom JavaScript pieces to manage an image sequence with JavaScript, like fly-ins, along with a custom image gallery slider that expands contracts and loops on their blog posts.

We also optimized the entire site, working with the Ghost design team to ensure pixel-perfect renderings across all viewports. Their newly rebuilt site system is cleaned up, with tidy classes that will make future updates a breeze and improve page performance.

The Results

New Image, New Funding
AI pioneer OpenAI extended 5M in support to Ghost to explore the possibility of multi-modal LLMs reading the road in autonomous driving.

Powered by Webflow + EA Ingenuity
Ghost initially looked to ditch Webflow, citing concerns about its ability to deliver on big animations and complex interactions. Our team pushed the platform to its limits to prove viability.
